Reflecting the firm’s international expansion, Trevor Dixon, Sydney-based corporate advisor and lawyer at the Link Group, has been appointed to the new role of ‘Head of the International Office’.
John McMurtrie, Link’s managing director, announced the appointment to staff just before Christmas.
He said: “In this role, Trevor will assist me and our overseas chief executives to make our broadening global interactions as efficient as we can. Importantly, Trevor will work with all our business units to identify and execute cross-border sales and business development opportunities.”
He added that Dixon would also continue to work closely with Link’s Australian executive team on legal and emerging technology issues.
Dixon spent a good part of the last six months in the UK, dealing with the many regulatory issues associated with the takeover, for about A$1.5 billion, of the UK-based Capita Asset Services, which has been rebranded under the Link name as Link Asset Services.
As Capita, the business operated for more than 40 years across the UK and Europe providing fund administration and other services to managers and other institutions. The takeover involved approvals in at least seven jurisdictions and takes Link’s reach to 17 jurisdictions in total.
McMurtrie said after the takeover announcement last year: “With this acquisition, Link Group is now a truly international company with expanded opportunities for further growth. We are genuinely excited by the opportunities for the expanded Link Group, our new clients and new colleagues.”
