Ay, there’s The Rub

Uncategorized

Reflecting the growing influence of SMSF trustees on the investment management landscape, Shed Media today launches a newsletter catering for this market – ‘The Rub’.

Starting with an email-push distribution base of more than 33,000 investors and accountants who administer SMSFs, the newsletter will provide weekly news and information dedicated to the interests of individual investors.

Edited by John Kavanagh, an experienced financial journalist whose career has spanned publications including BRW Magazine, Fairfax Media, The Australian, and, most recently, Banking Day, ‘The Rub’ combines news, investment opportunities, analysis and technical advice for SMSF trustees.

  • Shed Media is a specialist sales and communications company which promotes investment products through lead generation and public relations activities.

It has an exclusive arrangement with Investor Strategy News involving native advertising and other investment promotions. It is also the publisher of New Investor, a weekly devoted to the interests of financial advisors.

The name ‘The Rub’ refers to the Shakespearian soliloquy in ‘Hamlet’ which starts: “to be or not to be…” It is derived from the 16th century game of lawn bowls whereby players had to traverse a ‘rub’, which was a rough patch of ground, to reach their goal of touching the other balls. We think it’s appropriate for the world of investing.
