La Trobe Financial, the big privately owned mortgage lender and credit manager, has appointed Gerard Parlevliet, the former general manager of the Commonwealth Bank Officers’ Superannuation Fund, to the board of its main funds.
La Trobe Financial’s chief executive and majority shareholder, Greg O’Neill, said, in a statement this month that Parlevliet’s leadership, investment and corporate governance experience were important aspects of his appointment.
“Parlevliet’s extensive experience will prove invaluable and will assist us to meet the challenges and opportunities of growing our business in the years ahead. Our customers and our staff will benefit from the skills and experience he brings,” O’Neill said.
Parlevliet, a highly regarded CIO, who is also a director of Prime Super, retired from Commonwealth Bank early this year. He is a previous winner of the CIO of the Year Award, sponsored by La Trobe Financial, and a former executive committee member of the Fund Executives Association Ltd.
