… as ASFA chief to take the stage at Chant West Awards

Uncategorized

The master of ceremonies at Chant West’s fifth annual Awards night, at Sydney’s Ivy Ballroom on May 24, will be Martin Fahy, the new chief executive of ASFA, who said: “We need to send a clear message that super funds are doing a good job”.

In a release this week detailing the 12 Awards categories, including the new ‘Best Fund: Advice Services’ award, Fahy said: “It will be a fun night, and an important one at a time when confidence in superannuation is being put to the test. We need to send a clear message out there that super funds are doing a good job. The Chant West awards help do that by focusing on some of the excellent work which has delivered good value to members and helped them make sensible, informed decisions.”

The Awards this year focus on three themes:

    • The value of advice – especially how funds go about understanding their members better in the lead-up to retirement and ‘nudge’ them towards good decisions
    • Product development in the retirement incomes area, where innovative ideas can help manage longevity risk as well as investment risk, and
    • Integrity in investments – the extent to which funds stick to strategies that have proven successful at a time when investment fees are under ever-increasing scrutiny.

The Awards event usually sells out well beforehand. For information and ticket sales: www.chantwestawards.com.au
